M5AEX takes over GB50ATG for October

Latest GB50ATG news:

The QSO’s are rolling in, especially during the CQWW RTTY contest on theweekend of September 26/27th. During September GB50ATG was being used by John GW4SKA, a keen HF operator.

During the CQWW contest alone, GB50ATG racked up 1320 QSOs for 1,014,027 points.

DX and rarities included 3V, 9M2, A7 , C3, CN, HK, HR, HZ, OD, P4, T7,TI and VP8NO with a huge signal on 20 metres. John, GW4SKA, put in an operating time of 29 hours.

Propagation was quite good, comparatively speaking, with QSO’s being available on all bands, including ten metres. Fifteen metres even opened up to the States, expectedly so with the autumnal equinoxial enhancement. John worked a large number of stations other than in the contest of course, during September, but wishes more stations would stop for a chat with less of the rubber stamp contacts.

GB50ATG now passes to Andrew, M5AEX for the month of October, so look out for him on all HF bands. Check this site as usual for details of the special QSL cards that are available, together with the Golden Jubilee award details and certificates that can be won.

GB50ATG remains active until the end of June 2010.
